Thanks to YOU and other fans around the world, these awesome 2012 KCA winners got orange blimps! Find out who took home all of the prizes on this very special--and very slimy!--occasion!
JLS
JB Gill, Marvin Humes, Aston Merrygold, and Oritsé Williams are JLS (Jack the Lad Swing), the boy band ‘everybody’s in love’ with! They have had 5 number one singles in the UK and sold over 3 million albums! Plus, they’re making a difference with their own charitable foundation. Will JLS get a KCA?
Little Mix
Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall became Little Mix in 2011, after they tried out for ‘X Factor’ as soloists. After joining forces as a group, they won the show—becoming the first group ever to do so! Now they’re trying to follow up that win with another big prize: an orange blimp!
One Direction
Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan started out as solo singers competing on ‘X Factor’...yet they ended up joining forces, and months later, they were the UK’s hottest boy band! Their first single ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ landed at number one, and they have released two best-selling books, ‘Forever Young’ and ‘Dare to Dream’. One Direction is definitely headed in the direction of becoming global superstars.
The Wanted
This five-piece band (Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes) released their first single, ‘All Time Low,’ in 2010. It debuted at number one in the UK and stayed in the Top 40 for 17 weeks! Their second album ‘Battleground,’ released in 2011, is a huge hit...now can they win the ‘battle’ for the KCA?
Adele
With a voice like Adele’s, there’s no way we could ever find someone like her! After recovering from surgery on her vocal cords, the soulful singer made a triumphant return to performing at the Grammy Awards—where she also nabbed 6 trophies! Will she have to make room on her mantel for an orange blimp?
Cher Lloyd
Singer-rapper Cher first got noticed when she competed on ‘The X Factor’ in 2010. Her first single, ‘Swagger Jagger,’ was released in 2011 and went to number one on the UK’s singles chart. Her debut album ‘Sticks + Stones’ came out late last year. Now that she’s big in Britain, she’s about to make her mark in the U.S. when her album drops there in April!
Jessie J
In the past year, Jessie J has broken out as one of Britain’s biggest pop stars! The ‘Do It Like a Dude’ singer with the ultra-edgy fashion sense (she even rocks sparkly black lipstick!) has earned honours like the 2011 Critic’s Choice Brit Award. Now she’s up for another prize you can’t put a ‘Price Tag’ on: the KCA!
Pixie Lott
Born Victoria Lott, this multitalented singer-actress scored a number one hit with her very first single, ‘Mama Do’. Plus she has branched out into acting with ‘Fred the Movie.’ Pixie has won several awards including the MTV EMA for Best UK/Ireland Act in 2009. It’s safe to say fans like her a LOTT! (Sorry, we can’t resist a cringe-inducing pun!)
Ed Sheeran
This singer-songwriter learned to play guitar as a young boy and started writing music while he was in school. He started recording music in 2005, when he was just 14! And all that practice paid off: Ed’s first single ‘The A Team’ was the best-selling UK single of 2011. Will he win his first KCA at just 21 years old?
Olly Murs
Singer-songwriter Oliver ‘Olly’ Murs’s career is going from strength to strength, with three number one singles and two double platinum albums to his name, plus a BRIT Award nomination. And he’s currently wowing fans on his huge UK arena tour. Will winning a KCA be his next accomplishment?
Professor Green
Listening to this Professor is a lot more fun than listening to your maths teacher! The rapper from East London has worked with musicians like Lily Allen and The Streets. His latest album ‘At Your Inconvenience’ was released in October 2011. Will Professor Green go home with an orange blimp (or covered in green SLIME)?
Tinie Tempah
Rapper Tinie Tempah gained a following of thousands of fans with mixtapes and live performances before he even signed to a record label. No wonder his first album, ‘Disc-Overy’, debuted at number one when it came out in 2010! Tinie has already won a Brit Award plus a whole bunch of other honours. Will a blimp be the next trophy in his collection?
Doctor Who (BBC One)
Different versions of this show with different actors have been around for decades. And it’s easy to see why the beloved series has such staying power: With a main character who’s an alien with a time machine, the story possibilities are pretty much endless!
House of Anubis (Nickelodeon)
Strange things are happening at the ‘House of Anubis’! On this breakout hit show, eight students live together in an eerie house and have to deal with lots of creepy situations. Can you solve the mysteries behind the show? And will it win the KCA? So many unanswered questions!
Tracy Beaker Returns (CBBC)
Tracy Beaker is all grown up! In ‘Tracy Beaker Returns’, a spinoff of the series ‘The Story of Tracy Beaker’, actress Dani Harmer returns to the Dumping Ground as a care worker. Dani has been playing the character for ten years now, since she was 12 years old! Think it’s time she and the rest of the cast got a KCA blimp?
X Factor (ITV)
Considering how many of the UK’s musical nominees got their start on ‘X Factor,’ it’s not hard to see why this hit show is nominated for a KCA! The competition is intense on this reality show and tons of amazing talents have been discovered while performing for the judges. After crowning so many winners, will ‘X Factor’ become a winner itself?
Tulisa
Tula Contostavlos, a.k.a. Tulisa, is a very busy girl! Not only does she have dual careers as a singer (with the group N-Dubz and solo) and an actress, but she also found the time to host season 8 of the hit show ‘X Factor’, helping mentor fellow KCA nominees of Little Mix on their road to victory. Will she be rewarded with a prize of her own—the KCA for Favourite UK Newcomer?
Brad Kavanagh
Brad Kavanagh first started performing at the age of 11, when he appeared onstage in the West End in ‘Billy Elliot the Musical’—not too shabby for a debut role! But the actor really made a name for himself with the premiere of the hit show ‘House of Anubis’. The multitalented Brad has also recorded three songs. Can he bring a KCA back to his ‘House’?
Daniel Radcliffe
Of course Harry Potter himself deserves a KCA nod for the last flick in the series—especially considering Daniel Radcliffe has played the role for 10 years! With Harry's powers on his side, it's safe to say he's got this one all figured out.
Matt Smith
Hailing from Northampton, Matt Smith is the 11th—yes, 11th!—actor ever to play the legendary lead role on Doctor Who, and the youngest of all of them. With a number of film roles under his belt, he has had the role of the Doctor since 2010. In 2011, it earned him a nomination for a BAFTA Award...and now he’s up for a KCA!
Robert Pattinson
With his starring role as Edward Cullen in the ‘Twilight’ movie series, Rob has almost single-handedly changed our image of vampires from scary to dreamy! (And sparkly, to boot.) In ‘Breaking Dawn: Part 1,’ the latest instalment in the series, things get more intense than ever for Edward and Bella. Will the role win KCA voters’ hearts?
Ana Mulvoy Ten
Ana Mulvoy Ten was born in London; she is of Spanish and Irish descent and is fluent in both English and Spanish. The 19-year-old actress, who first appeared on TV when she was just 9 years old, got her big breakthrough when she was cast as Amber on the hit show ‘House of Anubis’.
Emma Watson
Hermione has come such a long way since the first ‘Harry Potter’. We've literally watched Emma Watson grow up on screen, and we can't wait to see if she scores a Blimp for the last flick in the series.
Karen Gillan
Karen Gillan, who grew up in Inverness, Scotland, was first seen on TV in 2006—but she really got our attention in 2010 when she joined the cast of ‘Doctor Who’. She has already won and been nominated for several awards, and now this redhead might win an orange blimp!
Pixie Lott (in Fred the Movie)
Born Victoria Lott, this multitalented singer-actress scored a number one hit with her very first single, ‘Mama Do’. Plus she has branched out into acting with ‘Fred the Movie.’ Pixie has won several awards including the MTV EMA for Best UK/Ireland Act in 2009. It’s safe to say fans like her a LOTT! (Sorry, we can’t resist a cringe-inducing pun!)
Good Luck Charlie
The Duncan family had to adjust to a big surprise: their new baby sister, Charlie! Bridgit Mendler stars as older sister Teddy, who sets up a video diary for Charlie so she can learn all about life as a Duncan teenager when she's older. How sweet! Good Luck Charlie always makes us laugh -- we so wish we were part of the fam! Good luck to the cast!
iCarly
‘iCarly’ has been the TV show to beat at the KCAs for a few years now, and this year its got some tough competition! Will Miranda Cosgrove, Jennette McCurdy, Nathan Kress, and the rest of the cast be able to outshine the other noms?
Victorious
Tori Vega, played by Victoria Justice (hint hint, she is the reason it's called ‘Victorious’!) knows the ins and outs of making it at Hollywood Arts High School. Victoria and her amazing costars Leon Thomas, Ariana Grande, Matt Bennett, Liz Gillies and Avan Jogia entertain us with their super-talents: singing, acting, dancing, and generally being hilarious. They're a tough crew to beat, but may the best show be victorious!
Wizards of Waverly Place
The Russo fam has been hiding its magical powers from the world for years! Alex Russo, played by Selena Gomez, and her two brothers played by Jake T. Austin and David Henrie have to keep their awesome wizardry powers a secret from everyone around them, which is a bit of a problem since they live in the city of millions: New York! Let's see if the Russos can work some of their magic to win the KCA!
American Idol
With a new slew of judges this year, ‘American Idol’ is better than ever! J.Lo and Steven Tyler spiced up the mix at the judges' table along with veteran Randy Jackson and we love it. Will ‘Idol’ walk away a winner at the KCAs? ‘You’ be the judge!
America’s Funniest Home Videos
‘America's Funniest Home Videos’ has been making us LOL for as long as we can remember! People falling, dogs doing funny things, cats doing funny things, kids saying funny things -- it never gets old! But will the funniest show win the KCA?
America’s Got Talent
We thought we were talented singing in the shower, but the acts on ‘America's Got Talent’ put us to shame, both on the good side and the bad. (At least we know when we can't hit a high note!) It's so much fun to watch the talented and the not-so-talented, so it's no surprise that this competition gets a KCA nod for Favorite Reality Show.
Wipeout
While watching people fall in the backyard is fun on ‘America's Funniest Home Videos’, watching them fall in an obstacle course on ‘Wipeout’ is downright hilarious. We've tried to re-create the many hoops these contestants have to jump through on the show, but trust us, do not try it at home.
Tim Allen
We've loved Tim Allen in so many flicks throughout the years. From ‘The Shaggy Dog’ to ‘The Santa Clause’, Tim's made us laugh so hard and even tear up just a little bit (you didn't cry watching ‘Toy Story’?!). It's no wonder he's nominated for Favourite TV Actor for his work in ‘Last Man Standing’.
Ty Burrell
Ty Burrell plays Phil Dunphy on ‘Modern Family’ and (sorry, dad) we would do anything to switch fathers and have him in our house! Whether he's fixing that broken stair for the 100th time or getting his kids out of trouble, Ty is a master of physical humour and amazing comedic timing. The other noms in this category better watch out!
Alex Heartman
Alex plays Jayden, the leader of the pack on Nickelodeon's ‘Power Rangers Samurai’. His element is fire and things get heated when he and the others fight the Nighloks, but Jayden always keeps his cool. Go go, Power Ranger, Alex, and good luck on your KCA nom!
Jake Short
Jake Short stars in ‘A.N.T. Farm’ as Fletcher Quimby, one of the students in the Advanced Natural Talents program at Webster High School. He's an artistic genius who falls for Chyna Parks, the newest musical prodigy at school. So romantic! Jake is so cute on the show and we can't wait to see if he'll impress Chyna with a KCA win!
Miranda Cosgrove
Miranda Cosgrove never fails to make us laugh on ‘iCarly’. She kicked off her acting career in ‘School of Rock’ and she's been rocking on the small screen ever since. Miranda's no stranger to the KCA Blimps, but will she win Favourite TV Actress this year?
Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez is the star of ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ but she hasn't forgotten her roots -- she first starred on the small screen on ‘Barney & Friends’! While she has magical powers on ‘Wizards’, she doesn't need any help to win at the KCAs!
Victoria Justice
Victoria Justice stars in ‘Victorious’ as Tori Vega, and she's got a good shot at victory at the KCAs! She performed at last year's show and we're ‘beggin' on our knees’ to see her in action again!
Bridgit Mendler
Bridgit Mendler is the star of ‘Good Luck Charlie’ as the most amazing big sister to little Charlie. Seriously, if we had a big sis like Teddy, we'd be set for life. Bridgit's first acting gig was on soap opera ‘General Hospital’! Let's see if this budding star wins the Blimp this year!
Nathan Kress
Nathan Kress plays Freddie Benson on ‘iCarly’, and we can't imagine the show without him! As the show's resident nerd, he's always there to help carry on the web show without a hitch! We wish we had a best friend just like him. Good luck, Nathan!
Jennette McCurdy
Jennette plays the hilarious Sam Puckett on ‘iCarly’. We can't get enough of Sam's love for odd food, her love/hate relationship with her mom and her hilarious quips! She sure knows how to ham it up for the cams! Good luck Jennette!
Jennifer Stone
Jennifer Stone plays Harper Finkle on ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ and is the definition of a funny sidekick! Where would Alex be without her? Jennifer's no stranger to the KCAs, but let's see if this is her year of the Blimp!
Jerry Trainor
Jerry Trainor plays big bro Spencer Shay on ‘iCarly’ and we so wish we could have a sibling just like him! Remember when Jerry was on ‘Drake and Josh’? We can always count on him to be a funny sidekick!
Kung Fu Panda
What's black, white, and all-around AWESOME?! The legendary Dragon Warrior, Po! And now, he's got his very own show. The Furious Five are at it again, but this time they're defending the Valley Of Peace against a wild world of villains. Can ‘Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness’ fight off its KCA competitors to win the coveted blimp? Let the battle begin!
Phineas and Ferb
We're obsessed with these two hilarious stepbrothers. Why can't our family be as cool as Phineas and Ferb's? (OK, we could do without Candace, but could we have the real life Ashley Tisdale as a sis instead?!) The other nominees better watch out, because once Phineas & Ferb get an idea in their heads, you better believe they're gonna do whatever it takes to get what they want!
Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated
Our favourite mystery-solving pup is back and better than ever in ‘Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated’. This time the gang is in Crystal Cove, a spooky town with a supernatural history of being spooooky. Let's see if this crew will sniff out the competition and walk away with a Blimp!
SpongeBob SquarePants
Everyone's favourite undersea sponge is back after a big win at last year's KCAs! Whether he's battling jellyfish or reclaiming King Neptune's stolen crown, the Krusty Krab's first-rate fry cook has a knack for getting into trouble... and somehow always getting out of it. Then there's poor Squidward. Maybe a blimp would cheer old Tentacles up?
Derek Jeter
Derek Jeter plays shortstop for the New York Yankees and he has no shortage of awards under his belt. He's the Yankees' all-time career leader in hits, games played, and stolen bases, and he's won four Silver Slugger Awards and five Gold Glove awards. But we bet if he walks away with a Blimp, it'll be the coolest (and definitely slimiest) award he's ever gotten!
Michael Phelps
Michael Phelps has won 16 Olympic medals overall, at the 2004 Olympics in Athens and at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. He holds the all-time record for most individual gold Olympic medals -- 14 total! But will he walk away with a Blimp? He's got an advantage over his fellow noms -- Michael will be able to hold his breath under all that slime, just like he does under water!
Tim Tebow
Tim Tebow is the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos. If you feel like you've heard a lot of Tim's name recently, it's because he frequently drops to one knee and prays on the field after awesome plays, and his fans go wild for it. Tim definitely knows what it's like to win, but will he beat out all the other pro athletes for the Blimp? He better do some more praying!
Shaun White
Shaun White is a pro snowboarder and skateboarder. He won 2 Olympic gold medals for snowboarding, so he better hope that he wins a Blimp at the KCAs this year so he can try to catch up to Michael Phelps' 14!
Kelly Clark
Kelly Clark is a pro snowboarder who won an Olympic gold medal in 2002. She trained in Vermont growing up and went on to compete in 2 Olympic games. Maybe it'll be a snowy KCAs if she and Shaun White both take home Blimps!
Danica Patrick
Danica Patrick is a racecar driver, model, and spokeswoman. Known for being the most successful woman in the history of American racing, and being the only woman to win the IndyCar Series, we think this lady deserves a whole lot of praise! Maybe this will be Danica's year at the KCAs!
Serena Williams
Serena Williams is a pro tennis player, and the Women's Tennis Association has ranked her the world number 1 in singles on five separate occasions! She and her sister Venus are both nominated this year for Favourite Female Athlete, so bring on the sibling rivalry!
Venus Williams
Venus Williams is Serena Williams' older sister and has also been named the world no. 1 singles tennis player on three separate occasions. We love to watch Venus and her sister compete, but who will walk away with the Blimp at the KCAs this year?
Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series
‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ is a book series written by Jeff Kinney about Greg Heffley, a middle-schooler going through big changes. Between dealing with his hilarious best friend Rowley and his aggravating older brother Rodrick, Greg has a lot on his plate. But he's not so wimpy on the big screen since the movie versions of ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ are super popular at the box office. If the book series walks away with a Blimp, Greg will have a lot to write about in his diary.
Harry Potter series
If you haven't read all of the ‘Harry Potter’ books by now, you've probably been living under a rock. The series by J.K. Rowling is praised by everyone we know and don't even get us started on the movie versions! Will Harry and his crew win a Blimp for giving us these amazing reads?
Hunger Games series
While ‘Harry Potter’ has lit up the screen with its book adaptations over the past decade, ‘The Hunger Games’ is just getting started. The book series about Katniss Everdeen competing in the fight for her life has taken us on an extremely suspenseful journey that (no offence, Katniss) we just don't want to end! The book is a serious must-read, and if Katniss can fight in 'The Hunger Games', she will no doubt be huge competition at the KCAs.
Twilight series
We've been fawning over Edward and Jacob forever and we have the original ‘Twilight’ books to thank for our head-over-heels obsession. What would we have done if Bella Swan had never walked into our lives with her pale skin and never-ending drama? A ‘Twilight’ sliming at the KCAs would amuse us for all of eternity, so here's hoping…
Just Dance 3
Dancing + video games + our favourite music = the most fun we've ever had. The third installment of this amazing game came out in 2011 and we have barely stepped away from our TVs since.
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga
We never thought Legos went together with Star Wars, but it's like putting potato chips on a sandwich -- two of your fave things can go really well together! May the force be with this awesome video game...
Mario Kart 7
The newest installment of our fave game, Mario Kart 7 added the ability to hang-glide and drive underwater! Coolest. Powers. Ever.
Super Mario Galaxy
As always, Super Mario is super fun to play, but Super Mario Galaxy is a whole new world (literally) of awesome planets and gravity effects. Saving Princess Peach on another planet just got even more fun!
Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked
Our fave chipmunks got themselves into a bit of a pickle in ‘ Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked’ when they accidentally go overboard on a cruise ship and end up stranded in a tropical paradise! (How horrible!) But soon they discover that they're not alone... and hilarity (of course) ensues. The chipmunks sound even funnier with slime in their mouths, so let's see if they can take home a Blimp this year!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2
‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2’ is the eighth and final film in the ‘Harry Potter’ series. It was the only one to be released entirely in 3D -- cool! But even with all the awesome effects, we can't help but be a little bit sad that this last flick means that ‘Harry Potter’ has been filming for 10 years and now it's dunzo! Let's see if they get a KCA for all their hard and amazing work...
The Muppets
‘The Muppets’ came back and were better than ever with the help of Jason Segel and Amy Adams. With new songs, new acts, and new jokes, we were so happy to see our fave furry friends back on the big screen. Kermit already knows it's not easy being green, so let's see how these guys look in all that green slime!
The Smurfs
It was the year of remakes! Talk about a blast from the past, ‘The Smurfs’ made us remember everything we loved about these blue creatures. Let's add some green to al that blue and slime them at the KCAs!
Jim Carrey (Mr. Popper's Penguins)
We've seen Jim Carrey in some pretty crazy roles (‘Ace Ventura’, ‘The Mask’, ‘How The Grinch Stole Christmas’), but inheriting six penguins and then transforming his apartment into a winter wonderland for the animals in tuxedos is above and beyond -- even for him! Maybe Mr. Popper will bring some of his little friends to the KCAs?
Johnny Depp (‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’)
Captain Jack Sparrow did us proud in the fourth flick in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise. He set out to find the fountain of youth, but what happens along the way will be remembered for ages. Johnny Depp looks great in slime -- let's just hope he brings his eye patch for protection!
Daniel Radcliffe (‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2’)
Of course Harry Potter himself deserves a KCA nod for the last flick in the series. Daniel Radcliffe is by far the youngest actor in this category, but with Harry's powers on his side, it's safe to say he's got this one all figured out.
Adam Sandler (‘Jack & Jill’)
Our fave funnyman, Adam Sandler, is nominated for his role in ‘Jack & Jill’. He should probs gettwo nominations for this part, since he played both Jack and’ Jill! We know Adam looks great with a wig on, but how would he look rocking slime?
Amy Adams (‘The Muppets’)
Amy Adams is America's sweetheart, and she won over the hearts of The Muppets, too! She can sing, she can act, she's been nominated for three Oscars, and let's see if she can handle a whole lot of slime at the KCAs!
Kristen Stewart (‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1’)
Kristen Stewart, a.k.a. Bella Swan, has been turning heads ever since she fell for Edward Cullen. She's got some big competition in this category, but if she wins a Blimp, it'll be hers for all of eternity...
Sofia Vergara (‘The Smurfs’)
We love Sofia Vergara on ‘Modern Family’, and it's great to see her on the big screen in ‘The Smurfs’, too! This funny lady has the acting chops and the looks to be KCA's Favourite Movie Actress.
Emma Watson (‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2’)
Hermione has come such a long way since the first ‘Harry Potter’. We've literally watched Emma Watson grow up on screen, and we can't wait to see if she scores a Blimp for the last flick in the series.
‘Cars 2’
Lightning McQueen and his pals were back for ‘Cars 2’ with incredible voices like Owen Wilson's and Larry the Cable Guy's. In this flick, Lightning McQueen and Mater go oversees to compete in the World Grand Prix race, but of course, Mater gets into a bit of trouble. Can these cars add a Blimp to their gang?
‘Kung Fu Panda 2’
We loved the original ‘Kung Fu Panda’, and ‘Kung Fu Panda 2’ was even more fun! Po made a cameo at last year's KCAs, and we can't wait to see if he'll be black and white and slimy all over again in 2012!
‘Puss in Boots’
Some of our fave parts of ‘Shrek’ involved Puss in Boots, so we were so psyched when he got his own flick this year. In a story about the events leading up to Puss in Boots' fateful meeting with Shrek and pals, we learned so much about all of their pasts, and now we'll get to find out if a Blimp is in Puss in Boots' future!
‘Rio’
Blu, played by Jesse Eisenberg, was a small-town macaw from Minnesota who set off on an exciting adventure to Rio de Janeiro with the bird of his dreams, Jewel. Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx, Jane Lynch, and more awesome voices round out this cast of characters. We'd love to vacay in Rio with this cast of animals!
Antonio Banderas (‘Puss in Boots’)
Holy frijoles, we'd know this voice anywhere -- Antonio Banderas was amazing as Puss in Boots. Will the boots give Antonio the extra push he needs to score a Blimp?
Jack Black (‘Kung Fu Panda 2’)
Jack Black was born to play Po in ‘Kung Fu Panda’. Jack also has the Kung Fu moves to prove his amazingness in this role. Can he take home the Blimp and continue the panda-monium?
Johnny Depp (‘Rango’)
Johnny Depp is such a chameleon (pun intended). He can adapt to any role Hollywood throws at him! In ‘Rango’, Johnny plays a chameleon who accidentally ends up in the Wild West. We'd love to see Johnny out of his element like Rango -- maybe we can get slime involved in that situation?
Katy Perry (‘The Smurfs’)
When you picture Katy Perry, you don't exactly picture her wearing a lot of blue -- er, wait a second, she did have blue hair for a while -- but you don't really think of Katy as a cartoon character, since she's larger than life on stage. But as Smurfette in ‘The Smurfs’, Katy transformed herself yet again! And for that, she definitely deserves a KCA nod.
Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba has always turned heads, but in ‘Spy Kids’, she took her action skills to a whole other level. This girl's got moves! Let's see if she can knock out her competition...
Tom Cruise
The latest ‘Mission Impossible’ might have been Tom Cruise's best. We've been watching this guy kick butt on the big screen ever since we can remember, but we can't exactly recall the last time he was slimed. So we think it's time... How 'bout you, Tom?!
Kelly Kelly
Beauty and buffness -- that's a tough combo, to say the least. The WWE star Kelly Kelly is so hardcore that she has double the power of other ladies, and double her first name! But can she go up against Hollywood's elite?
Taylor Lautner
Team Jacob fans across the earth are screaming right about now. Taylor Lautner has proved that not only can he make us swoon in ‘Twilight’, but he can also bound through a forest as a super-strong werewolf and make Bella question whether she picked the right guy for eternity. Taylor kicks butt, but can he win the Blimp?
Big Time Rush
The mega talented boys of BTR, Kendall, James, Carlos, and Logan, have us singing and dancing 24/7! Their second album, ‘Elevate’ brought them to new heights of stardom and had us screaming "Love Me Love Me"! Rushers, are you ready to vote for their Big Time win?
Black Eyed Peas
The Black Eyed Peas have been producing hits since 1995 and have since sold an estimated 65 million records worldwide! That's a lot of people ‘getting it started in here’. Fergie, will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo always bring the ‘boom boom pow’ on the dance floor. We can't wait to see what they come out with next!
Lady Antebellum
Lady Antebellum burst onto the country music scene with their hit "Love Don't Live Here" and went on to record the super catchy "Need You Now" that is always stuck in our heads! They've won a ton of awards, but can they take home the KCA, too?
LMFAO
In terms of internet abbrevs, LMFAO has made themselves a household name. DJs Redfoo and his nephew SkyBlu love to party, and have been making our parties way more fun since releasing their album ‘Party Rock’. Let's see if they'll come to party at the KCAs this year!
Justin Bieber
It's hard to remember a time when Justin Bieber wasn't dominating all Favourite Singer categories. His latest album, ‘Under the Mistletoe’ made us swoon all over again. We'd love to be a part of ‘his world’ in any way we can, so here's hoping that JBiebs brings home the KCA this year!
Toby Keith
We love us some country music every now and then, and Toby Keith is at the top of our must-listen list. He's up against some stiff competition in this category, but with a greatest hits album under his belt, Toby's seen it all before.
Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars aka Peter Gene Hernandez is from Hawaii and has produced some of our fave songs from the past few years. Where would we be without ‘Just the Way You Are’? Let's see if he can sing through the slime at this year's KCAs!
Usher
Usher, you have been one of our faves for years! It's no surprise that Usher's a contender in the Favourite Male Singer category again. He's had us like, "OH MY GOD" for as long as we can remember. He's up against protégé Justin Bieber, so he better bring his A-game!
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga had quite a year in the spotlight. Her album ‘Born This Way’ taught us that we were all born superstars and that we should all love ourselves. And we love her for that! KCA slime would go amazingly with ‘any’ of Gaga's outfits, and that's saying a lot, so good luck, Miss Gaga!
Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez is a huge triple threat in the Favourite Female Singer KCA category. What are her three talents, you ask? Acting, singing, and dating Justin Bieber. OK, that last one is more of a gift than a talent, but we'll give it to her anyway. Selena and The Scene's latest album, ‘When the Sun Goes Down’ was a major part of 2011, and the hit single ‘Who Says’ was blasting in our headphones all year long.
Katy Perry
Katy Perry had quite a year! With the success of her single ‘E.T.’ Katy spent 52 consecutive weeks at the top of the ‘Billboard’ Hot 100! The fifth single off her ‘Teenage Dream’ album, ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)’, also hit number one on the charts, making her the first female artist to ever have five number one songs off one album. Let's see if this record-breaker can win the KCA this year!
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift captured our hearts by just being the girl on the bleachers and now she's a superstar. Her song 'Safe & Sound' will be featured on the 'Hunger Games’ soundtrack! Let's see if this blonde cutie can take the stage against some stiff competition in the Favourite Female Singer category.
‘Born this Way’ (by Lady Gaga)
We love her songs and we LOVE her style -- there's nothing about Lady Gaga that we don't love! "Born This Way" is just one of her many amazing tunes and we totally agree with the sentiment behind it. We're all beautiful in our own ways. Thanks, Gaga, for reminding us of that!
'Firework' (by Katy Perry)
Another inspirational song, Katy Perry's "Firework" teaches us that we all have that spark inside us and we can all shine as bright as superstars like Katy! Whether we can all rock blue hair is another story...
‘Party Rock Anthem’ (by LMFAO)
Sometimes you just gotta let loose and party like the guys in LMFAO. They just wanna have a good time! And if they win you can bet there will be some serious partying going on backstage...
‘Sparks Fly’ (by Taylor Swift)
Taylor Swift knows romance. ‘I see sparks fly whenever you smile.’ Awww! The lyrics in ‘Sparks Fly’ read like the most adorable poem ever. We hope she gets her ‘love story’ on stage at the KCAs!
